<li><strong>9-10:30am  Creative Vinyasa</strong> &#8211; Intermediate level class. <em>Vinyasa</em> means &#8220;posture flow&#8221; &#8211; rather than holding poses in isolation, we move from one to the next seemlessly.  Typical Vinyasa is based on <em>Surya Namaskar</em> (Sun Salutation). In this class, there may be elements of Surya Namaskar, but mostly, it is a non-traditional flow &#8211; almost a <em>dance of Yoga</em>.  In Plain.  Please contact me for exact location.</li>
</ul>
<p>NOTE:  Thursday night East Wenatchee class cancelled.  Please let me know if you would be interested in monthly workshops at this location.</p>

I am now teaching a Gentle Introduction to Hatha Yoga Monday mornings 8:30-9:30 at Mountain Springs Lodge is Plain.  Drop-ins are welcome for $10.  Please bring a mat and props (some will be available for loan).  There is talk of adding a second (or maybe even a third!) class in Plain later in the week.  Stay tuned and let me know if you&#8217;re interested.<br />
On Sunday nights, I am still teaching a Yin focused class at Balance Point Health and Fitness just off the Chumstick Highway in Leavenworth.  The class currently runs 5:30-7:30 but I will likely move that to a later time in April (7-8:30pm) as well as shortening the time due to the increase of daylight.  This class is $15 and drop-ins are welcome.  For more info on Yin, please see my other entries.<br />
Thursday evenings, I teach a group in a private home in Wenatchee from 7-8:30.  Anyone is welcome to attend.  I call this my &#8220;Variety Class&#8221; because I teach a little bit of everything I know (not all in one class, of course!).  Please just ask for directions &#8211; we&#8217;d love to have you!  This class is $12 drop-in.<br />
There are also classes at <a href="http://www.mtstuartpt.com">Balance Point Health and Fitness </a> and several well trained teachers in the area.  In Wenatchee, you can find yoga at Body Rhythm Yoga Studio, the WRAC, Read It Again Books and through Wenatchee Valley College.  If you are struggling to find a yoga class that works for you, please let me know.  There is probably a teacher (like me!) out there wanting to teach more and if we have enough interest, we can set up a class.<br />

The class is meditative and gentle, although (some say) &#8220;intense&#8221; as we hold the poses for several minutes with the use of a timer.  The poses are not muscular as you would experience in a vinyasa or typical hatha yoga class but rather are held with the muscles relaxed.  There are two important aspects of this practice.<br />
One is the physical benefit to the connective tissues of the body which like slow, long, gentle stretches.  These tissues are protected in Yang or muscular exercise by the engagement of the muscles.<br />
The second aspect is mental.  We hold the poses for several minutes.  This requires being in relative stillness, sometimes with strong sensation in the body.  How often are we still in our daily lives?  This aspect of the practice teaches us many of the same benefits that meditation brings &#8211; We learn to quiet our minds, watch thoughts come and go and to not react to every impulse that arises.<br />
Most people who attend regularly love the time that they are allowed to simply be rather than constantly doing doing doing.<br />

From 7 to 8:30 pm, I teach a small group in a private home in Wenatchee.  We are always open to new students joining us.  In this class, I include a little bit of everything that I know &#8211; Vinyasa, Asana and Alignment, Therapeutics, Yin and Restorative.  We have been working on learning a choreographed Vinyasa for the past few weeks.</p>
