Quiet Yoga
4:00-6:00pm

In this practice, we fuse aspects of yoga to soothe a rattled nervous system. Chronic stress and overstimulation can cause a wide array of consequences to health and wellbeing – adrenal fatigue, high blood pressure, digestive distress, depression, to name a few. Quiet Yoga seeks to bring balance through the combined practices of pranayama, gentle somatic movement and restorative yoga.

Participants will emerge feeling as though they have been on a mini yoga retreat. No need to fly off to an expensive tropical location – Feel deeply rested after just a short Quiet Yoga practice. Create internal mental, physical and emotional space to carry with you back out into the world. This workshop provides two Yoga Alliance continuing education contact hours.

Myofascial Meridians and Yoga:  A workshop for people with rounded shoulders and upper backs, tight knees, quads and ankles  //  Date TBD

There is a lot of talk in yoga about “heart opening” and indeed, we tend to be a culture of rounded shoulders and upper backs.  We spend a lot of time at computers, in cars, working with our hands and the result can be a tight front body – which ironically can cause back pain.  Working with Thomas Meyer’s Myofascial Meridians concept, we will use self-massage, yoga postures and stretches and somatic movement to open and lengthen the front line of the body.

$40 per person; receive a $5 discount when you register by February 20.

Register by email or phone:  yoga@joannadunn.com, 509.470.0542.

Workshop will be held at Evolve :: Local Yoga, 11779 Highway 2 #107 Leavenworth

Somatic Movement for cross-country skiiers, walkers, runners (and anyone who wants to move with grace and fluidity)  //  Date TBD

Based on the work of Moshe Feldenkrais and Thomas Hanna, this series will re-pattern and coordinate one of our most basic daily movements, restoring lost fluidity and ease in the upright walking motion of which nordic skiing and running are an extension.  Build awareness and find walking meditative.

$40 per person; receive a $5 discount when you register at least one week in advance.
