Restorative Yoga and Somatic Movement Series

Busy mind. Restlessness. Anxiety. Stress. Do these sound all too familiar? For many of us, these are normal states of being. And they are not states that we can talk ourselves out of - Meaning that we often cannot solve for these states from thought, from the mind. Instead, we can "talk" directly to the nervous system, quiet the body and the mind will follow.

Quiet Yoga is a blend of resting yoga poses (restoratives), somatic/gentle movement, calming breath practices, and meditation. Each class will be a unique combination, intuitively choreographed by Joanna. In this series, we focus on: Backbends, Twists, & Side-Openers.

This class is open to all levels and abilities. If you own yoga props, several firm blankets, a strap, blocks and a bolster will be helpful (we recommend purchasing through Hugger Mugger). While yoga-specific props are ideal, you can usually be creative and achieve a similar effect with common household objects: large bath towels for blankets, a couch cushion for a bolster, and a bathrobe tie or necktie or a strap.
